Job description

Reno Staffing is looking for multiple material handlers for an electronics and hardware manufacturer located in the Carson City area!


Do you consider yourself meticulous and analytical? If so, this may be the perfect entry level role for you!

Shift: Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Voluntary overtime on Saturdays!
Pay: $20.50/hr. Temp to Hire
Location: Carson City, NV 89706-Own transportation required
Summary: The Responsible for the safe and efficient movement, handling, and storage of materials within warehouse or distribution center. This role ensures accurate inventory control and supports overall operational flow.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned.
  • Drives a Reach, Lift or other such Material Handling equipment daily.
  • Loads and offloads pallets from trailers.
  • Builds pallet loads which meet customer and carrier shipping criteria.
  • Stacks pallets (bulk) in a safe manner (so as not to topple bulk towers).
  • Stores pallets in racking in a safe manner (no excess overhang, pallets cannot be nudged out of position by next putaway, pallets cannot fall).
  • Performs all warehouse functions which require a machine (i.e. picking, putaway, high counts).
  • Performs inventory consolidation, relocation, putaway, in a safe manner (totally conscious of all pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the vicinity; right of way to pedestrians) as necessary for consolidation and space usage.
  • Completes daily inspection of vehicle to be driven, completes safety check list and reports all mechanical problems with the vehicle.
  • Reports all accidents (damage to property, vehicle, injuries regardless of how minor).
  • May be trained to change machine batteries.
  • Performs other applicable duties within the assigned department which do not require the operation of a lift truck.
At the discretion of your lead or supervisor, you could be required to perform additional job related activities not specifically outlined above.

  • Valid/current machine certification (internal certification will be provided)
  • Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a safe manner, adhering to all OH&S regulations and all Reach/Lift Truck Regulations.

  • Works on assignments that are primarily complex in nature.
  • Considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
  • Keen sense of safety of others and of personal safety.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
  • Must be able to effectively work within a team environment.
  • May lead/provide guidance to lower level non-exempt associates.
  • Viewed as an expert in job assignments and related tasks.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate Reach/Lift Truck – no physical restrictions which would endanger personal safety, nor the safety of others.
  • Excellent vision (prescription eyewear permitted).
