Position Summary

The Vinyl Room Technician is responsible for the preparation, production, and organization of vinyl graphics for signage projects. This role operates vinyl printers, plotters, laminators, and related equipment to produce high-quality graphics while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency. The technician works closely with production, design, and installation teams to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate vinyl printers, plotters/cutters, laminators, and related production equipment

· Weed, mask, laminate, trim, and prepare vinyl graphics for installation

· Read and interpret work orders, proofs, and production schedules

· Ensure all graphics meet company quality standards and customer specifications

· Maintain accurate inventory levels of vinyl, laminate, substrates, and production supplies

· Organize and prioritize daily production tasks to meet project deadlines

· Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of production equipment

· Troubleshoot minor equipment or material issues and report major concerns to management

· Prepare completed graphics for shipping, staging, or installation teams

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

· Assist with signage assembly and other production tasks as needed

· May require assistance with the installation of the vinyl signs at customer locations.

· Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred

· Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

· Previous experience in sign production, print production, or vinyl application preferred

· Familiarity with vinyl cutting software and RIP software is a plus

· Ability to read measurements and use basic hand tools accurately

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Basic computer skills required

· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment

· Experience with large-format printing and vehicle graphics

· Knowledge of materials used in the sign industry

· Experience with software such as Adobe Illustrator, FlexiSIGN, or similar programs

· Understanding of color matching and print quality standards

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time

· Ability to pass a DOT physical.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally

· Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements

· Comfortable working around production equipment and machinery
