Job description

Punahou School is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant for KRLL, Ken Richardson Learning Lab. The TA is responsible for supporting all aspects of the program as directed by the Lead teacher. Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, preparation of equipment, assisting students with fabrication, coding, team dynamics, inventory, technical problem solving, with a focus on safety.
Position Details:
  • Work Year: 1.5 Months
  • School Year: Summer School 2026
  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday, Schedule will vary based on operational needs

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors of engineering, industrial design, computer science, or related program or Associate's Degree in related field with comparable technical training and work experience.
  • Experience working with high school students in design & fabrication lab.
  • Ability to inspire trust and confidence, exercise patience, and motivate students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others.
  • Demonstrates solid professional and personal ethics: models respect, honesty, dependability, and integrity.
  • Demonstrated passion for (subject), teaching and learning.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • CAD, CAM.
  • Shop tool experience.
  • Robotics experience.
  • Electronics experience.
  • Rapid prototyping machines: laser cutter, 3d printer, CNC router, vinyl cutter etc.
