Job description

Premier Fence is expanding our well-established fencing operation to include gates, automation, and access controls. We’re hiring a Automatic Gate Service Technicians to help launch and grow this new division.

This role is for a technician who knows gate systems and wants to be part of building something from the ground up inside a solid, established company. You’ll be joining an experienced fencing team while helping our access controls and automation division. There is real upward mobility for the right person.
What You’ll Be Working On:
  • Service and repair of automated gate systems:
    • Slide, swing, cantilever, vertical lift, barrier arm, and crash-rated gate systems.
  • Maintenance and repair of high-security and crash-rated gates, including heavy-duty mechanical and hydraulic components.
  • Troubleshooting operators, motors, control boards, safety loops, photo eyes, keypads, intercoms, and access control devices.
  • Preventative maintenance and scheduled service work.
  • Emergency service calls as required.
  • Supporting installs and system upgrades as the division grows.

What We’re Looking For:
  • 2+ years hands-on experience with automated gate systems.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid electrical knowledge (low voltage, basic 120V/240V).
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and manufacturer documentation.
  • Comfortable working independently in the field.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Criminal background check required.
  • On call rotation for after hours and weekend service.
  • Willing and able to pass a pre-employment drug screening that includes Marijuana.

Preferred Experience:
  • LiftMaster, Doorking, HySecurity, FAAC, Nice, Viking, Linear, or similar.
  • UL 325 compliance knowledge.
  • Commercial, HOA, industrial, or high-security gate environments.
  • Access control and telephone entry systems.
  • Welding or fabrication experience (plus, not required).
