PRODUCTION MANAGER

Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for delivery of products through their assigned area and is a champion of the site wide Operations Strategy. They will be responsible for partnering with all functions within the business to develop, drive, and implement improvements to the manufacturing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for the safety of your team by enforcing established safety and health policies and procedures contributing to promoting employee safety and wellbeing and preventing accidents and working to improve TRIR year over year
  • Direct and manage daily manufacturing activities
  • Coordinate and lead plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Create daily production schedules, determine manpower needs required to meet production throughput demands
  • Establish and monitor measurements for assigned areas: plant performance for quality, delivery and cost
  • Effective and efficient use of Lean Manufacturing and associated tools in all areas of the organization
  • Provide leadership and training on CIRCOR Operating System (COS) tools to accomplish company goals and objectives
  • Fully support Manufacturing Excellence / Lean Conversion Roadmap resulting in revolutionizing the shop floor and creating an Operator-Led Process Control environment
  • Communicate frequently and effectively to associates throughout the organization. Establish and maintain effective communication vehicles such as toolbox meetings, employee meetings, roundtable discussions, and one-on-one meetings
  • Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility which include Machine Shop, Welders, and Assemblers
  • Coordinate the hiring and training of operations personnel
  • Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals
  • Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment
  • Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiency and enhance productivity
  • Support, as necessary, research and development as well as product management personnel to develop new product strategies
  • Maintain and support a superior 6S program, including all timely communication
  • Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement initiatives
  • Must possess exceptional people skills

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Previous experience / broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends
  • Previous experience and knowledge of best practices when implementing and using continuous improvement / lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability
  • A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment
  • Highly motivated, results oriented, driven
  • Must demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • At minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Business / Finance / Management / Operations or another related field (5 years of Manufacturing leadership experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • MBA is Preferred
  • 3+ years progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility
