Job description

Natureโ€™s Path is a family owned, sustainably-driven, deliciously-healthy organic food manufacturing company that produces cereal, oatmeal, granola, toaster pastries and chips. At Natureโ€™s Path we believe in leaving the earth better than we found it.


Production Manager you will be responsible for strategically planning, organizing and managing the Packaging department with regards to safety, quality, overall productivity, daily hours and schedules.


Work Schedule: Monday through Friday during regular business hours, with flexibility as needed to support business requirements.


Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.


A Taste of the Job:



  • Maximize efficiencies while working within the sites GMPโ€™s, SOPโ€™s, supply management, SQF processes, system, and guidelines

  • Ensuring production is on schedule and within budget

  • Working with the Plant and Maintenance Managers to coordinate preventative maintenance to optimize performance of equipment and facilities

  • Working with the Plant Manager to efficiently plan the utilization of materials and other resources to minimize waste and obtain optimum returns on assets employed

  • Using inter-departmental coordinating mechanisms and procedures to facilitate ongoing communication and coordination with all Supervisors and external departments (such as RD&I, Capital Planning ,Purchasing, etc.)

  • Participate in the selection of new team members; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures

  • Provide motivation, support, and guidance to all; including timely, accurate and thorough performance reviews for directly supervised team members

  • Working closely with supervisors to optimize the engagement and development of team members on every shift

  • Actively works to build and develop high-performance teams through coaching and mentoring; deals with conflict in a respectful, forthright and timely manner; facilitate effective team meetings

  • Ensuring that the work environment is meeting safety and health standards and that equipment is well-maintained and is functioning in a reliable manner

  • Consistently setting a personal example in leadership, as โ€œServant Leaderโ€

Path for Success:
Education

  • Four-year college degree and/or equivalent relevant work experience


Experience

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years in a manufacturing environment

  • Proven experience with manufacturing control and scheduling software; Strong background in Microsoft Office

  • Strong safety awareness and experience championing safe work practices; Basic understanding of OSHA and safety procedures

  • Food-specific experience preferred (EX: HACCP, SQF, QAI, Kosher, etc.)

  • Experience leading by example to support an environment of diversity and respect at all levels of an organization

  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives

  • Adaptable to a flexible schedule to accommodate team members on various shifts, in various environments
