Production Manager

About the Job

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Production Manager to oversee and drive the growth of our origination team.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting Loan Officers while maintaining efficient, compliant production across all channels.

The right candidate will have both the operational know-how to ensure files move smoothly through the pipeline and the leadership skills to motivate a team to perform at a high level.

This is an on-site/Hybrid role based out of our Oak Lawn headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Growth
    • Recruit, hire, and train Loan Officers (Los) and sales support staff.
    • Develop a structured onboarding and mentorship process for new Los.
    • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and consistent production.
  • Pipeline Management
    • Oversee daily loan pipeline activity to ensure timely closings.
    • Partner closely with processing, underwriting, and closing teams to remove obstacles.
    • Maintain high standards for loan quality, compliance, and customer service.
  • Production Oversight
    • Drive origination growth through coaching, lead management, and referral-partner engagement.
    • Track key metrics (volume, pull-through, turn times, quality) and report to senior leadership.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, agency guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Business Development
    • Support Loan Officers in building referral networks with real estate agents, builders, and financial professionals.
    • Represent Crown Mortgage in the community with professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in mortgage origination, with at least 2 years in a leadership or production management role.
  • Deep understanding of FNMA/FHA/VA guidelines, Encompass LOS, and retail mortgage operations.
  • Proven track record of recruiting and developing successful Loan Officers.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills able to coach, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
  • NMLS license preferred (active or previously held).
  • Must reside within commuting distance of Oak Lawn, IL.
