Job description

Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Northbrook, IL
Hire Type: Contract | Approximately 2–3 months, with potential to extend
Pay Rate: $35.00/hour
Benefits: PTO, paid holidays, BCBS medical plans, dental/vision plans, 401(k), & ESOP
Work Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 6:00AM–2:30PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking 2 Production Supervisors to support increased workload at a metal fabrication facility that manufactures dental instruments. These supervisors will work alongside the existing leadership team to oversee daily production activities, support employees, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency within production work cells.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, self-motivated leader who can quickly step into a manufacturing environment, build relationships with employees, identify improvement opportunities, and make an immediate impact.

Must-Have Skills:
  • Manufacturing Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment required.
  • Leadership: Ability to effectively lead, support, and motivate frontline production employees.
  • Continuous Improvement: Strong mindset focused on identifying efficiencies and improving processes and work-cell performance.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and management.
  • Initiative: Independent, self-motivated "go-getter" who can quickly assess situations and take action.
Job Duties:
  • Support existing Production Supervisors with daily manufacturing operations and increased workload.
  • Provide frontline leadership and direction to production employees within assigned work cells.
  • Monitor production activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Partner with production leadership to implement improvements and drive operational efficiency.
  • Communicate production priorities, issues, and updates effectively to employees and management.
  • Build positive working relationships with production employees and encourage teamwork and accountability.
  • Help troubleshoot day-to-day production challenges and ensure issues are addressed promptly.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Perform other supervisory and production-related responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Manufacturing experience required; metal fabrication or similar industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous production leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify practical process improvements.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn processes, build credibility with employees, and contribute immediately.
