Job description

PRIMARY TASKS & MAJOR ACTIVITIES

The Assistant Nixa LIVE Coordinator supports the district's student-run broadcast program by assisting with live event productions, supervising student crews, and ensuring consistency in production quality.
This role serves as a key support position within the program, helping lead broadcasts, assist in student development, and maintain operational efficiency across all events.
 

EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Education, Communications, Broadcasting, or related field preferred; Teaching certification preferred but not required.  Experience in video production, live broadcasting, or multimedia production preferred.  Familiarity with broadcast equipment (cameras, switching software, audio systems) preferred.  Experience working with or supervising students preferred.  Preferred (But Not Required):  Knowledge of live streaming platforms (YouTube, MSHSAA.TV, etc.); Graphic design or motion graphics experience; Experience building or growing a media or broadcast program.

Time Commitment:  Requires evening and weekend availability; Estimated 20 events per semester across fall, winter, and spring seasons.  Other Requirements:  Strong communication and organizational skills, ability to make decisions in a live production environment, and ability to troubleshoot technical issues on-site.  Physical Requirements:  Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 60 pounds;  Ability to stand, walk, and work extended hours during events;  Ability to travel to away athletic venues

Willingness to collaborate with peers.  Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.  Willingness to understand and support District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Broadcast Operations;  Assists in producing and leading live athletic broadcasts;  Oversees production elements including video, audio, and graphics during events;  Supports consistent production quality across all broadcasts
