Job description

Job Description:
The Security Support Specialist (SSS) is responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, and coordination of the company's physical security technologies, including access control, video management (VMS), and burglary alarm systems. The role also assists the Director - Security and the Security Team with store and corporate physical security operations, including vendor management, security guard management, budgeting/invoice management, physical security technology auditing, troubleshooting, and administrative support. This role will work with law enforcement, legal, facilities, security personnel, stores, and others on a wide range of security topics.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operation and support of access control, video management (VMS), and burglary alarm systems, including maintenance, repair, and replacement programs.
  • Be a first responder to store, operations and corporate security needs.
  • Provide administrative support for all store security equipment and security personnel.
  • Assist in providing premium cost-effective security equipment and programs.
  • Manage and fulfill video evidence requests from internal partners, law enforcement, legal counsel, and other authorized parties.
  • Act as a liaison between vendors and field operations.
  • Aids in the implementation of security plans as necessary to include emergency response, crisis and incident management, physical security, and information protection.
  • Assist with and maintain vendor relations and associated expense control.
  • Liaison between Security and IT/Networking.
  • Assist Legal, Risk, and Licensing as necessary.
  • Monitor, report, and address false alarm activations and fines.
  • Monitor, report, and address security camera/burglary/fire alarm equipment problems and issues.
  • Assist in monitoring/reviewing billing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in researching disputes in billing and service issues.
  • Provide continual field coaching and support on proper use and care of all security equipment.
  • Provide video documentation upon request to law enforcement and internal departments.
  • Provide support in response to robberies, burglaries, security guard deployment, and other security needs.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of industry trends, current security issues, and related technology.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • College/Technical degree/certificate desired or a minimum of 2 years applicable experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Requires strong multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated exposure to physical security systems, operations, or programs, with the ability to expand technical knowledge.
  • Network/technical environment experience required; experience with Video Management Systems (VMS) is highly regarded.
  • Genetec knowledge or certification highly regarded.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice to include nights, weekends and holidays to support field operations and security.
  • Able to accommodate a flexible, non-traditional work schedule, including rotating workweeks based on business need.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive information.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance.
