Job description

A well-established, mission-driven technology solutions provider supporting federal customers is seeking an experienced Video Management System (VMS) Engineer to join its team. This organization has a long-standing reputation for delivering innovative security and IT solutions within complex government environments. Position Overview
The VMS Engineer will provide technical expertise in IP and analog video systems, deployed surveillance technologies, and networked camera environments. This role supports field users globally and plays a key role in troubleshooting, system optimization, and operational support. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, hands-on network experience, and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical challenges efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Provide high-level technical support to federal customers
Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving IP and analog video systems
Configure and support industry-standard networking and camera equipment
Diagnose, reproduce, and analyze system issues using structured troubleshooting methodologies
Support and provide oversight to Tier 2 engineering efforts
Develop and contribute to technical documentation and training materials
Participate in meetings, technical briefings, and working sessions
Communicate effectively with both leadership and field personnel

Required Qualifications
Active Secret Clearance (or higher)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
Video surveillance systems (IP-based and analog)
Security camera systems (hardware and software)
Network systems administration and deployment
Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routers, switches, VPNs, NAT, VLANs, firewall rules)
Experience with IP addressing and network troubleshooting
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
