America's second oldest horse racing track, the Fair Grounds has been a New Orleans staple since 1852. We are a premiere entertainment venue presenting thoroughbred & exotic animal races, slots, video poker and simulcasting year-round. Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

List essential duties and tasks that must be performed, in order of time spent or importance, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair Tote (Pari-Mutuel) Equipment
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair computer network and related networking equipment.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair pc workstations, servers and other computer related equipment.
• Have a good knowledge of the Windows Operating System and basic computer networking

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from team members, regulatory agencies or members of the staff. Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner. Ability to perform normal mathematical computations in regards to the implementation of current duties. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Hand Tools, power tools, ladders, hand trucks, various test equipment,  computer, telephone, work truck

Must be able to obtain a Video Poker Employee Permit from the Louisiana State Police and a Racing License from Louisiana State Racing Commission. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Office/Casino environment; Subject to outdoor temperature; Exposed to smoke, bright lights and noise at times. Will occasionally work in extreme heat or cold conditions. Will also occasionally work in confined space, such as attics.
