Job Description

KVDA Telemundo San Antonio is seeking a Multiplatform Producer to join our award-winning team. The Multiplatform Producer will be responsible for successful coordination and execution of a newscast, other special programs as needed, content for all platforms including apps, social media accounts and streaming channels. This role will report to the Executive Producer.

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about news, loves breaking news and has a creative vision for crafting live programs. You’ll work closely with managers to create innovative, up-to-the-minute content that resonates with our audiences. The ideal candidate loves to collaborate, wants to help lead a team, and is ready to take on new challenges to help us continue to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow all Telemundo San Antonio News and NBC standards and ethics.
  • Responsible for multiple news cast production, content, and elements of the shows.
  • Responsible for being a strong communicator in the newsroom- talking with key stakeholders who will participate or provide content for that newscast (i.e. VP of News, Executive Producer, Managing Editor, anchors, Digital, MMJ's and production crews).
  • Coordinate Live Shots and Satellite Remotes during live newscasts.
  • Select, assign, write, and organize news stories. Write news scripts, headlines, teases and topicals.
  • Contribute story ideas, participate in daily coverage decisions and editorial meetings.
  • Must select stories, understand all the elements, and design a newscast that achieves the daily goal.
  • Knowledgeable on daily news events, awareness of past news events and know what news in the market.
  • Respond to breaking news with urgency and accuracy.
  • Develop special projects involving community and social content.
  • Work with Multimedia Journalists to improve story and presentation.
  • Work closely with VP. Of News, Executive Producer and Managing Editor on story/sweeps planning and coordination.
  • Complete discrepancy reports with detail and accuracy to help prevent future problems and cue sheet.
  • Support Talent with the creation of original digital content.
  • Contribute to the creation of video series for OTT, FAST and all platforms.
  • Understand newscast mission, station priorities and be familiar with all the platforms.
  • Leadership: take responsibility for own actions and take risks for the team and be a team player.
  • Be detail oriented, organized, and able to handle intense deadline pressure.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages
  • Minimum of 2 years producer experience
  • 1 year experience with writing and/or editing and/or producing daily video
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or media communication or equivalent experience products
