Job Posting Title:
Senior Engineering Manager, Software Development - Adobe Video
The Role
We are the Adobe Pro Video group, responsible for building next generation professional video editing solutions and workflows. We are enabling customers of Adobe's video apps (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder) to successfully create videos across the world by using modern user interface solutions. Our tools are used by Hollywood, major news outlets, social media influencers (YouTube / Instagram), and creatives all over the world.
What you'll do
As the senior engineering manager of the team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring the development team which delivers shared user interface solutions for our world class technology stack for video editing. You will also collaborate across teams, partnering with Product Management, Marketing, Design and Program Management team members. Driving the effort from a process perspective, as well as strategically determining the best approaches for delivering high value and high quality solutions for Premiere Pro customers, is a significant portion of this role. This is a phenomenal opportunity to learn from, and contribute to, an outstanding group of hardworking video professionals.

  • Responsible for all aspects of team success while delivering superb quality for the customer
  • Mentor and grow team members in their careers and facilitate success in their daily activities towards stated goals and objectives
  • Represent team progress and breakthroughs to senior leadership, provide roadmaps and schedules on an ongoing basis
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in crafting and building modern UI solutions for desktop applications
  • Responsible for solving problems that arise and to continually improve or enhance the systems along with product quality
  • Work together with senior engineers, experience designers and product managers to build the right set of features for our customers

What you need to succeed
  • 10+ years of leading/managing software engineering teams
  • Interest in developing solutions to ensure we deliver nothing but the best user experiences and quality
  • Understanding of software development processes - including standard Agile methodologies
  • Experience developing applications for Mac and/or Windows
  • Strong design sensibility with a particular focus on developing user interfaces (UI), including conceptualization, layout, and user experience considerations.
  • Proven track record to collaborate effectively across teams; working closely with design and product management organizations, as well as multiple additional engineering teams, to align technical solutions with business and user needs.
  • Experience managing and contributing to large-scale projects with extensive codebases, including navigating and modernizing legacy code when necessary.
  • Working experience with AI assistant tooling such as Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT
  • Expertise in desktop interface development, including the architectural and functional differences between macOS and Windows environments.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility guidelines to ensure inclusive and compliant UI experiences.
  • Strong grasp of performance optimization in the context of UI development, including techniques for hardware acceleration and efficient rendering.

Expected Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $147,900 -- $293,250 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
In California, the pay range for this position is $202,500 - $293,250In Washington, the pay range for this position is $178,200 - $258,000
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
