Job description

If you’ve spent time shooting photos, editing videos, or experimenting with content on your own and have been looking for a way to turn that into a real career, this is that opportunity. If you’re tired of being just a number, we’re looking for someone motivated, reliable, and interested in building real skills in a structured, hands-on production environment.

About the Role

Excelsior Media is a Reno, Nevada-based production company with 23 years of continuous operation. We produce high-quality video content for subscription platforms within a structured, professional environment focused on consistency and technical execution.

We are seeking a Videographer/Editor/Photographer to join our in-house team. This is a hands-on role involving both on-set production and post-production editing as part of a high-volume workflow.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build a full-time career in video production. Prior professional experience is not required, but candidates should have a strong personal interest in videography, editing, or photography and hands-on experience through personal projects, freelance work, or school.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Reno, NV.

Important Note

Our content is intended for adult audiences. Candidates must be fully comfortable working in that environment on a day-to-day basis.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with video shoots, including camera operation, lighting, and audio setup
  • Capture video and photo content on set
  • Edit footage in Adobe Premiere Pro to create rough and final cuts
  • Maintain consistency and quality across a high volume of content
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and production goals
  • Help with general production tasks, including setup, breakdown, and organization

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong interest in videography, editing, or photography
  • Some hands-on experience (personal, freelance, or academic)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-focused environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow structured workflows
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small team
  • Willingness to learn and improve within a defined system
  • This role is best suited for individuals who enjoy hands-on production work and are interested in developing technical skills through repetition and real-world experience.

What This Role Is (and Isn’t)

This is a production-focused role that emphasizes:

  • consistency
  • efficiency
  • execution

It is not a purely creative or cinematic role. Candidates should be comfortable working within an established production system and producing content at scale.

How You Work

  • Process-driven. You work effectively within a structured environment and value consistency, reliability, and delivering high-quality work on schedule

  • Ownership-minded. You take responsibility for your work from capture through final delivery and are comfortable managing projects independently

  • Collaborative. You communicate clearly, incorporate feedback, and work well with both team members and on-screen talent

  • Detail-focused. You have a strong eye for framing, pacing, and continuity, and understand the technical requirements of a polished final product

  • Professional. You maintain a professional demeanor and are comfortable working with mature subject matter

Work Environment

  • In-person role based in Reno, NV
  • Work is performed at our office and production facilities
  • Production schedules can vary and may include longer shoot days

Our Production Environment

We operate with professional-grade production equipment and a consistent, in-house workflow. Our toolkit includes Canon cinema systems, DJI drone platforms, and advanced lighting setups using Arri and Aputure fixtures.

Post-production is handled on dedicated Mac Studio workstations, allowing for efficient, high-volume output.

Why This Role

We’ve had strong success bringing in candidates with non-traditional backgrounds and helping them grow into skilled videographers and editors. If you’re motivated and willing to learn, this role provides a clear path into the industry.

What to Send Us

We’re most interested in candidates who have taken the initiative to develop their skills on their own.

Please include:

  • Any relevant work (portfolio, links, or examples)
  • A brief note about your interest in video/photo production
