Vice President of Software Engineering (SaaS)

Expert Technical Solutions has an outstanding opportunity for a Vice President of Software Engineering with a fast-growing software company in Atlanta, GA.
This is a Direct Hire, hybrid opportunity offering a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and executive growth opportunities!

You will serve as the organizational leader for the full R&D department, overseeing a team of 50–60 resources through a direct management tier of 7. In this role, you will step away from daily coding and code reviews to focus entirely on organizational scaling, culture, release strategy, and the optimization of a multi-track SaaS and enterprise delivery system.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the executive leader over the entire engineering organization, driving department structure, culture, and high-velocity delivery.
  • Spearhead the strategic transition of cloud products from traditional release cadences to a high-frequency, continuous deployment model.
  • Oversee the ongoing support of periodic, bundled software releases for enterprise, self-managed clients.
  • Champion the adoption and integration of AI automation and AI-assisted development tools across the full R&D lifecycle to accelerate throughput.
  • Partner closely with Product, Architecture, and DevOps peers to translate high-level business strategy into reliable software execution.
  • Transform the quality engineering department by shifting to an automation-first testing model built directly into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Design team topologies and resource allocation strategies to support rapid organizational scale.

Skills:
  • Extensive experience leading engineering efforts within a high-growth, cloud-native SaaS environment
  • Proven track record as a "manager of managers," running multi-layered organizations of 50+ total resources
  • Strong technical background in software engineering, architecture, or distributed systems (though this is a non-hands-on role)
  • Demonstrated experience modernizing deployment models, utilizing DORA metrics, and scaling CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technology stacks is preferred, but not required
