As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants.   With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.

JOB SUMMARY/BASIC FUNCTION

This role owns the Global product and Market strategy for SPX Cooling and is directly accountable for delivering profitable growth, margin expansion, and market share gains across HVAC, Refrigeration and Process Cooling.

The VP leads product management, strategic marketing, and pricing as a fully integrated growth engine-translating market insights, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and technology trends into winning product roadmaps, differentiated value propositions, and consistent go-to-market execution at scale.

 

This leader is a central driver of overall business performance and plays a key role in:

  • Accelerating growth in priority verticals
  • Shaping and executing the multi-year strategic plan with clear accountability for outcomes
  • Originating and executing M&A opportunities aligned to growth and capability needs
  • Driving alignment across Product, Sales, Engineering, and Operations around a common set of priorities

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Growth & Strategy Ownership

  • Own global product and market strategy with direct accountability for revenue growth, margin expansion, and share gains across regions and product lines
  • Own and lead the Strategic Planning process and ensure clear translation of strategy into execution milestones, operating plans, and measurable outcomes
  • Build and operationalize vertical growth strategies including segmentation, targeting, and value proposition refinement
  • Identify and close growth gaps across portfolio, channel coverage, geographic reach, and technical capability
  • Establish clear KPIs and rigorously track performance vs. plan, driving corrective actions where needed

Product Portfolio & Roadmap Leadership

  • Own and drive the global product roadmap aligned to business strategy, growth priorities, and margin objectives
  • Prioritize investments across product lines based on market attractiveness, competitive position, and ROI
  • Drive disciplined product lifecycle management, including launch, scaling, optimization, and end-of-life decisions
  • Ensure strong integration between Product, Engineering, and Operations to deliver on cost, quality, and timeline commitments
  • Hold teams accountable for commercial outcomes of product decisions, not just technical execution

Pricing & Value Capture

  • Own global pricing strategy with accountability for price realization, margin expansion, and mix improvement
  • Drive adoption of value-based pricing models tied to customer outcomes and differentiated performance
  • Support clear pricing governance, review processes, and performance monitoring across regions and product lines
  • Partner closely with Sales and Finance to ensure pricing strategies are effectively executed and sustained

Commercial & Market Leadership

  • Define and enforce clear, differentiated value propositions tied directly to customer needs and measurable outcomes
  • Equip Sales with targeted tools, segmentation strategies, and compelling messaging to improve win rates and pipeline quality
  • Build and lead a structured voice-of-customer (VOC) program and ensure insights are translated into actionable product and commercial strategies
  • Develop and maintain a strong competitive intelligence capability, turning insights into repeatable commercial advantages
  • Support key pursuits and strategic accounts where product positioning is critical to winning

M&A & Strategic Expansion

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of acquisition and partnership opportunities aligned with strategic priorities
  • Lead product and market diligence, including assessment of growth potential, competitive positioning, and synergy value
  • Play a leadership role in integration planning, ensuring rapid alignment of product roadmaps, branding, and go-to-market models
  • Use M&A as an intentional lever to accelerate Technology Differentiation, Entry into adjacent and higher-growth markets, Expansion in priority verticals and geographies
  • Ensure accountability for post-close value capture and growth acceleration

Digital, AI & Innovation Agenda

  • Own the portfolio of digital & AI initiatives that directly enable growth, improve productivity, and enhance customer engagement, with clear linkage to revenue, margin, and working capital outcomes
  • Drive adoption of digital and AI tools across core workflows, including product management (roadmapping, lifecycle decisions), pricing (dynamic/value-based pricing models), quoting, and commercial processes, ensuring tools are embedded in daily operating rhythms-not stand-alone pilots
  • Partner with Engineering, IT, and Commercial teams to integrate digital and AI capabilities directly into product offerings and the customer experience
  • Continuously evaluate and prioritize emerging technologies, focusing on those that create durable competitive advantage, differentiation, or structural cost/productivity benefits, rather than incremental or experimental use cases

Global Marketing Leadership

  • Lead global marketing as a core growth driver, fully aligned with product and commercial strategy
  • Drive demand generation, brand positioning, and market development aligned to priority segments and verticals
  • Ensure marketing programs are data-driven, ROI-focused, and tightly linked to pipeline and order growth
  • Oversee global branding, communications, and digital marketing to maintain a consistent and differentiated market presence
  • Partner with Sales and Product teams to ensure seamless execution from market insight to revenue generation

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven track record of owning and delivering growth (revenue and margin) in a global, engineered products or industrial business
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across product management, pricing, and commercial strategy, with demonstrated impact on business performance
  • Demonstrated ability to translate market insight into actionable strategy and drive execution through cross-functional teams
  • Proven success developing, coaching, and leading high-performing teams, building organizational capability, strengthening talent pipelines, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Experience operating in complex, global, matrixed organizations, with a strong track record of influencing without direct authority
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to make trade-offs, prioritize investments, and drive ROI-based decisions
  • Experience leading product portfolios in engineered-to-order, configured, or application-driven environments, with an understanding of technical and commercial dynamics
  • Proven success driving pricing discipline, value-based selling, and margin expansion
  • Experience with M&A (diligence through integration) strongly preferred, particularly in identifying and realizing growth and commercial synergies
  • Demonstrates high ownership, urgency, and resilience, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Engineering, business, or technical undergraduate degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred
