Overview
The SVP Director, Strategy leads the strategy and aids brand experience teams with the planning process for assigned clients and supports the vision of the strategy product for the agency. The SVP, Strategy is a leader who contributes to brand strategy and builds solid relationships with clients across all levels and functions. The SVP Director serves as the authority on the brand, industry, and consumer.
They support the ongoing evolution of strategy and upskilling strategists to create and maintain a competitive edge for the agency.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current media industry news and brand business (current and historical perspectives) with a focus on upstream initiatives
  • Lead in creation of strategic approach that addresses Consumer, Brand, and Business tensions or opportunities
  • Proactively elevate and provide critical thinking across a portfolio of brands + running projects
  • Guide and support internal teams in the application & positioning of strategic constructs & products
  • Leads team in data analysis to identify business, consumer, and brand insights to inform strategic approach to deliver business objectives, using syndicated and proprietary data resources
  • Drive innovation and thought leadership agenda both as a new business asset but equally within the agency to drive modern marketing solutions for our clients
  • Write and deliver strategies and POV's as well as oversee the translation of these strategies into the final audience recommendations
  • Provide vision, direction, management and support to individuals within the team to ensure their work aligns with our mission and goals
  • Be familiar with widely used and emerging insight tools and media technology, channels, and terminology
  • Form collaborative unions with agency capabilities, partner agency teams and third parties as necessary

Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in media planning/strategy with dynamic levels of responsibility
  • Consistent record of strategic leadership & oversight
  • Ability to strategically plan campaigns to align with clients strategic goals and critical metrics
  • Experience across all media types (national, local, digital, direct, programmatic, shopper, etc.)
  • Ability to translate data into viable business solutions to enhance strategies and meet deliverables
  • Ability to anticipate and quickly assess continually changing client needs and adapt resources and strategies accordingly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership ability to drive team to deliver results
  • Data storyteller and problem solver who can identify significant, singular, useable insights/tensions
  • Computer Skills/Software Knowledge: Microsoft Suite, Nielsen Suite, Kantar, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, comScore, Prisma, Mbox, MRI/GfK, GWI
  • Meticulous and proven ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
