The Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading the overall sales organization for McNeilus across North America. This executive leader is accountable for developing and executing the sales strategy, achieving revenue and market share objectives, strengthening dealer and fleet customer relationships, and building a high performing sales organization.
Reporting to the President, this role leads Dealer Sales, Fleet Sales, and Dealer Development, while partnering closely with Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Engineering, Sales Operations, Finance, and Manufacturing to ensure commercial execution aligns with customer needs and business priorities.
As a member of the McNeilus Leadership Team, the Vice President of Sales represents the voice of the customer while driving sales performance, organizational capability, and profitable growth across McNeilus' dealer network and strategic fleet customers.
YOUR IMPACT:

Sales Leadership
  • Develop and execute the overall sales strategy for McNeilus.
  • Lead all sales functions including Dealer Sales, Fleet Sales, Dealer Development, Sales Operations, and Connected Solutions.
  • Deliver annual revenue, market share, profitability, and order intake objectives.
  • Establish sales priorities, territories, account strategies, and performance expectations aligned with business objectives.
  • Build a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, customer relationships, and execution.

Dealer Sales & Development
  • Lead and strengthen McNeilus' North American dealer network.
  • Develop dealer capability through coaching, performance management, and strategic business planning.
  • Partner with dealer principals to improve market coverage, sales effectiveness, forecasting accuracy, and customer engagement.
  • Evaluate dealer performance and implement actions that improve market penetration and customer satisfaction.

Fleet Sales
  • Lead strategic engagement with national fleet customers, municipalities, private haulers, and other key accounts.
  • Develop long term customer relationships that drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Partner with dealers to execute fleet opportunities while maintaining strong channel alignment.
  • Negotiate major commercial opportunities and support complex customer agreements.
  • Ensure McNeilus maintains a strong presence with strategic customers across North America.

Sales Operations & Commercial Execution
  • Lead sales forecasting, pipeline management, territory planning, sales reporting, and performance analytics.
  • Establish disciplined sales processes that improve execution and forecasting accuracy.
  • Monitor sales performance through key metrics and dashboards.
  • Drive pricing discipline and commercial consistency in partnership with Finance and Product Management.
  • Continuously improve sales tools, processes, and systems that increase organizational effectiveness.

Connected Solutions
  • Lead the sales execution for McNeilus Connected Solutions offerings.
  • Drive adoption of digital products and connected technologies that enhance customer value.
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to ensure Connected Solutions align with customer needs and business priorities.

Cross Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, and Operations to align sales execution with business objectives.
  • Ensure customer feedback and market insights are incorporated into product development and business decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Lifecycle to provide a seamless customer experience throughout the ownership lifecycle while maintaining clear organizational accountability.
  • Represent the commercial perspective on the McNeilus Leadership Team.

Leadership
  • Build, develop, and lead a high performing sales organization.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop future sales leaders through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Represent McNeilus at dealer meetings, customer events, trade associations, and industry conferences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline and 15+ years of experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree.
  • Executive leadership experience within commercial vehicles, vocational equipment, heavy manufacturing, industrial equipment, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success leading large sales organizations and consistently delivering revenue and market share growth.
  • Significant experience working within a dealer model while supporting strategic fleet customers.
  • Experience leading sales operations, forecasting, territory management, and commercial execution.
  • Proven ability to build high performing sales organizations and develop sales leaders.

They are data driven, customer focused, and passionate about building winning teams that consistently deliver results. They are also deeply connected within the refuse industry, maintaining an active presence through industry associations, trade shows, customer events, and professional networks to stay ahead of market trends and strengthen strategic relationships.

Pay Range:
$189,800.00 - $370,200.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
