Vice President of Construction

With over 19 years of experience and hundreds of million-dollar projects completed, Hays Electrical Services provides excellent service to customers in the hospitality, commercial, and solar industries. Hays Electrical Services approaches each project with a cooperative mindset, working with business owners, contractors, and subcontractors toward the common goal of successful project delivery.

Position Summary

The VP of Construction is responsible for the execution of all field operations from preconstruction through project closeout. This role owns constructability, production, manpower efficiency, prefab execution, field coordination, schedule adherence, safety performance, and operational consistency across assigned projects. The VP of Construction drives field execution standards and ensures all projects are operating at maximum efficiency while maintaining schedule, safety, quality, and profitability.

This role works directly with the EVP, Project Executives, Project Managers, Project Controls, BIM/VDC, Prefab, Procurement, and Operational Assurance teams to ensure projects are fully coordinated and properly staffed from cradle to grave. The Construction Manager is expected to aggressively drive prefab utilization, manpower efficiency, production tracking, and schedule recovery planning across all projects.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead all field operations across assigned projects.
  • Ensure projects are staffed correctly based on production goals and schedule demands.
  • Drive accountability throughout Field Operations Managers and Superintendent teams.
  • Lead constructability reviews during preconstruction and turnover phases.
  • Coordinate with BIM/VDC, Prefab, Project Management, and Operations teams.
  • Aggressively drive prefab utilization across all assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with Project Controls and P6 scheduling teams to track earned value and production performance.
  • Identify schedule risks early and implement recovery plans immediately.
  • Ensure all field teams follow company safety standards.
  • Ensure field teams fully utilize Kojo, Project Sight, OpenSpace, and P6 coordination processes.
  • Mentor and develop Field Operations Managers and Superintendent teams.
