Institutional Annuities is New York Life's growing specialized annuity business, helping millions of Americans build financial security for retirement. We partner with leading asset managers to deliver innovative retirement and investment solutions to corporations, government organizations, and educational institutions. Backed by New York Life's financial strength, we help organizations manage risk and provide retirement security through solutions including stable value investments and pension risk transfer.
Role Overview:
As a Corporate Vice President within New York Life's Institutional Retirement Income Solutions team, you'll drive the expansion of our Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) capabilities, one of the company's most important strategic growth areas. This is a unique opportunity to shape the products, structures, and positioning that will power the next phase of our growth in the PRT market. You'll drive new capabilities from concept through launch, inform how New York Life competes, and work across the organization to turn strategic priorities into results. Your product mindset and ability to lead through influence will directly support the team's mission to establish NYL as a leader in the institutional retirement market.
What You'll Do:
• Capability expansion: deliver the expansion of New York Life's PRT capabilities, including new product structures, market segments, and transaction types
• Business building: develop business cases and secure cross-functional alignment to bring new capabilities from concept through launch
• Product strategy and positioning: define product strategy and competitive positioning for the PRT business
• Market intelligence: monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and industry developments to inform strategic priorities
• Cross-functional leadership: collaborate across actuarial, investments, legal, operations, and distribution to advance business initiatives
• Senior visibility: present business performance, strategy, and recommendations to senior leadership
• Cross-business contribution: support Defined Contribution Retirement Income initiatives as needed
What You'll Bring:
• 8+ years of experience in Pension Risk Transfer, the defined benefit system, or institutional retirement markets
• Experience building or expanding products, capabilities, or businesses in financial services
• Strong command of PRT transaction structures and deal economics
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without formal authority
• Strong analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business discipline; actuarial credentials, CFA, or MBA a plus
• Candidates must be eligible and willing to obtain Life/Accident/Health insurance licensing credentials as required
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $140,000-$170,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
