Job description

Vālenz® Health is the platform to simplify healthcare – the destination for employers, payers, providers and members to reduce costs, improve quality, and elevate the healthcare experience. The Valenz mindset and culture of innovation combine to create a distinctly different approach to an inefficient, uninspired health system. With fully integrated solutions, Valenz engages early and often to execute across the entire patient journey – from care navigation and management to payment integrity, plan performance and provider verification. With a 99% client retention rate, we elevate expectations to a new level of efficiency, effectiveness and transparency where smarter, better, faster healthcare is possible.
About Our Opportunity
As the VP Sales - Employer Markets (aka VP, Employer Markets), you will be responsible for driving new business growth across our Employer Markets segment by building strategic relationships with employers, brokers, consultants, and other key distribution partners. You'll develop territory strategies, cultivate new opportunities, and position Valenz's employer solutions to help organizations build higher-performing, more cost-effective self-funded health plans while consistently meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring experience selling complex healthcare or employer benefits solutions into the employer benefits ecosystem. You understand how employers make healthcare purchasing decisions and have experience partnering with brokers, consultants, benefit advisors, or similar distribution channels to drive growth.
Things You’ll Do Here:

  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to grow our Employer Markets business by building relationships with employers, brokers, consultants, and other key distribution partners.
  • Drive a consultative sales process from prospecting through close by identifying client needs, delivering tailored solutions, negotiating agreements, and achieving or exceeding revenue goals.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline through targeted prospecting, networking, industry events, referrals, and strategic outreach.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Valenz's employer-focused solutions and clearly articulate our value proposition, competitive differentiators, and business impact to prospective clients.
  • Partner with brokers, consultants, and employer decision-makers to identify opportunities and recommend solutions that help optimize health plan performance, improve the member experience, and better manage healthcare costs.
  • Represent Valenz Health at industry conferences, association meetings, and networking events to strengthen market presence and generate new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Client Success, Operations, and executive leadership to develop winning sales strategies and ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline activity, forecasting, and opportunity management within the CRM while providing regular updates on territory performance and market insights.
  • Partner with implementation and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from sale through onboarding and successful client launch.

Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
  • 5+ years of enterprise sales or business development experience selling healthcare, employer benefits, or closely related solutions into the employer market.
  • Demonstrated success developing relationships with employers, brokers, consultants, benefit advisors, and other key distribution partners.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals while managing complex, consultative sales cycles.
  • Strong understanding of the employer-sponsored healthcare ecosystem, including self-funded health plans, employee benefits, healthcare navigation, cost containment, payment integrity, care management, digital health, or similar solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive relationship-building skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to independently manage a territory, prioritize opportunities, and drive results.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Where You’ll Work: This is a fully remote position outside of the travel requirements, and we’ll provide all the necessary equipment!
  • Travel: Up to 50% to meet with prospective clients, partners, and industry organizations.
  • Work Environment: You’ll need a quiet workspace that is free from distractions.
  • Technology: Reliable internet connection—if you can use streaming services, you’re good to go!
  • Security: Adherence to company security protocols, including the use of VPNs, secure passwords, and company-approved devices/software.
  • Location: You must be US based, in a location where you can work effectively and comply with company policies such as HIPAA.

Why You'll Love Working Here

Valenz is proud to be recognized by Inc. 5000 as one of America’s fastest-growing private companies. Our team is committed to delivering on our promise to engage early and often for smarter, better, faster healthcare. With this commitment, you’ll find an engaged culture – one that stands strong, vigorous, and healthy in all we do.
