Job Summary and Qualifications

The Vice President (VP) of Operations promotes the ideals of high quality, patient-centered, cost-effective care through acquiring resources and assembling teams to successfully coordinate and execute assigned projects, according to the facility’s strategic plan. As a key leader in the facility management team, the VP of Operations participates in institutional planning, policy development, priority setting, and management decisions, and has full operational responsibilities for departments assigned by the supervising executive. 


What you do for this role: 


  • Works with the Administrative Team to respond to Division and Group requests for market/facility information. 


  • Collaborates with the Administrative Team and physicians to enhance existing processes and services and develop new processes and services, including business and financial justification where appropriate. 


  • Provides administrative and operational leadership for assigned departments. 


  • Ensures the application of Customer Service principles in meeting and exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers to provide satisfaction. 


  • Manages operations of assigned departments to achieve targets for designated Key Performance Indicators. 


  • Manages fiscal operation of assigned departments through ongoing revenue and expense analysis, to determine potential variances and make adjustments where necessary. 


  • Develops and updates department goals, in accordance with the facility’s strategic business plan, mission, and vision. 


  • Meets leadership obligations under the Ethics and Compliance Program. 


  • Builds strong relationships with physicians, employees, and peers. 


  • Utilizes HCA tools, such as PLUS, CERs, CAMS Projects, Lawson, etc., to help with management of responsibilities. 


  • Stays abreast of current Joint Commission, state, and federal guidelines, regulations and standards. 


  • Assumes accountability for promoting consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service. 


  • Maintains a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary. 


  • Supports the development and implementation of strategies to elevate the patient experience. 


  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.” 


What qualifications you will need: 


  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration Required 


  • 2+ years experience in a hospital leadership role Preferred
