VICE PRESIDENT - ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY

Executive Compensation Package ($300,000-$450,000)


Dallas, Texas | Regional / Enterprise Leadership


We have been retained by one of the nation's most respected construction organizations to identify a Vice President of Environmental, Health & Safety for a highly visible executive leadership position based in Dallas, Texas.


The company operates across multiple markets and geographies with a significant portfolio of complex construction projects and a long-standing commitment to operational excellence, safety and the development of its people.


This position will provide executive EHS leadership and oversight across the company's Southeast, Midwest and Eastern Operating Business Units, partnering directly with business unit executives, operational leadership and regional EHS teams.


This is not simply a corporate safety position. It is a strategic enterprise leadership role with responsibility for helping establish the vision, expectations, systems and leadership necessary to support a sophisticated construction organization operating across multiple regions.


The Vice President of EHS will provide strategic leadership across a geographically diverse organization, ensuring that safety remains fully integrated into how the company plans, leads and executes its work.


This executive will work closely with senior operational leadership while providing direction, mentorship and accountability to EHS leaders and teams throughout the organization.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight of EHS operations across multiple business units, regions and construction markets
  • Partner with Presidents, Business Unit Leaders, Operations Executives and project leadership to integrate EHS strategy into broader business and operational objectives
  • Lead, develop and mentor regional and business-unit EHS leaders while building organizational capability and succession within the safety organization
  • Establish consistent expectations, operating standards and accountability across geographically dispersed operations while recognizing the needs of individual business units and markets
  • Evaluate organizational and project-level risk and ensure appropriate resources, leadership and systems are aligned with the complexity and scale of the work
  • Partner with operational teams during pursuit, preconstruction and project planning to identify risk and establish appropriate EHS strategies before work begins
  • Provide executive leadership surrounding significant incidents, investigations, corrective actions and organizational learning


Desired Experience

  • 20+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience, including significant responsibility with a Top ENR Commercial General Contractor or large national specialty contractor
  • Proven multi-state, national or enterprise-level EHS leadership within a sophisticated construction organization
  • Experience leading EHS across large project portfolios, multiple operating groups and geographically dispersed teams
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, operations and field teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field preferred
  • CSP, CHST or equivalent certification highly valued
