Job description

OurStamfordCT based client offers investors selectively designed opportunities to invest in lower middle market credit and select equity investments. Their expertise is affirmed by a strong track record based upon productive, deep relationships within the sourcing market.

The firm benefits from partners who invest collaboratively and designing capital structures that are unique to the needs of the businesses they invest in. The firm doesn't have a cookie cutter approach to credit or equity, simply put, every investment starts with a blank sheet of paper.

Thefirm is seeking a Vice President for its growing team. Vice Presidents are given a broad mandate and significant responsibility to execute transactions through all phases of the investment process. The Vice President will work directly with Partners to source, screen, structure, lead primary due diligence, negotiate legal documents, review transaction models, oversee databook creation and investment committee memorandums, attend management meetings, and present to Investment Committee. In addition, Vice Presidents are responsible for mentoring Associates and Summer Associates.

The firm has an extremely flexible investment mandate providing the candidate with exposure to a broad set of origination opportunities including cash flow based direct lending, non-sponsored and sponsored transactions, and preferred equity investments.Top performers that excel will work on various strategic projects and other opportunities for the Fund.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead or assist in due diligence for all transactions (ranging from first lien loans to for-control buyouts)
  • Primarily work on investment opportunities
  • Oversee and own the creation of financial models
  • Screen and structure new transactions
  • Attend management meetings, portfolio company board meetingsand certain industry events
  • Prepare investment memorandums and present to the firm's Investment Committee
  • Exposure to legal agreement (credit and asset purchase agreements), waivers and amendments

This firm offers a tremendous work life balance improvement over investment banking and most buyside firms. All team members are expected to be in the Stamford offices(across from Stamford MNR station) 4 days a week.
