Are you ready to galvanize a team around a culture of care, putting patients first to spark change?
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Director, US Marketing to serve as Brand Lead for Inbrija and Ampyra in the US market. This individual is accountable for developing and executing integrated US brand marketing strategies that drive growth, strengthen customer engagement, and address customer needs spanning Healthcare provider (HCP), Patient, and Payer audiences.
The Brand Lead for Inbrija and Ampyra will leverage deep customer, market, and competitive insights to design, deliver, measure, and enhance brand objectives. This individual will partner closely with the US Head of Digital to orchestrate coordinated omnichannel engagement strategies and make investment and resource allocation decisions to maximize return on marketing investments. They will champion innovation, optimize product life-cycles, and be accountable for brand performance and budget management.
The successful candidate must be a strong collaborator, compelling influencer, and insight-driven leader, actively building alignment across US Marketing, Global, Medical, Market Access, Sales, Regulatory, Compliance, Analytics, and Digital teams in support of a unified brand vision and sound execution. They will champion promotional compliance, in close coordination with promotional review committee, to ensure materials align with company policies and industry regulations. The Brand Lead will also represent North America on the Global Product Team, ensuring U.S. market insights and priorities are reflected in global strategic planning.
Reporting to the Vice President of U.S. Marketing, this role currently manages one direct report, with the potential to expand the team as the business grows.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Brand Strategy: Leads and delivers annual brand plans and strategies for the assigned neurosciences brands stemming from global plans co-created with the global brand team.
  2. Strategy & Tactics: Leads and delivers execution of approved strategies, designs brand experiences, and creates aligned campaigns and tactics targeting healthcare professionals, Patients and/or Payers.
  3. Market Research: Conceives and executes market research to inform marketing insights, measurement, and impact.
  4. Campaign Management & Orchestration: Creates compelling marketing campaigns aligned with global and US strategy. Ensures sound content strategy plans are in place that reflect sophisticated omnichannel orchestration. Works collaboratively with PRC (promotional review committee) for the approval of all materials.
  5. Cross-functional Teamwork: Builds effective working & cross-functional relationships with key internal customers (e.g., sales, medical, legal, regulatory, market access, compliance, Global). Has strong influence skills, able to communicate complex marketing strategies and execution in simplified terms.
  6. Customer Engagement: Develops and supports execution of promotional speakers' bureaus and peer-to-peer educational programs directed at HCPs and Patients; Develops and maintains strong external relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
  7. Agency Management: Leads partnerships with all external vendors to ensure timely completion of marketing projects within budget and aligned to brand guidelines and strategic/tactical brief.
  8. Measurement & Enhancement: Defines lead and lag measures and goals for performance and campaign impact. Proactively optimizes and enhances budget, messaging, and tactics based on insight and ongoing measurement plan.
  9. Budget Management: Assumes budget accountability for the full brands' budgets and proactively monitors costs against such budget, optimizing allocations as needed.:
  10. Further Tasks: Develops and delivers presentations to commercial management and other internal groups. Ultimately responsible for the Brands strategy at the Commercial Execution Committee, led by the North American President.
  11. People Management: Guides, develops, and coaches their direct report(s). Ensures clear performance and development plans are in place and holds team accountable. Embeds marketing discipline and champions Merz culture within team.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
Job Related Qualifications/Skills
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in science or business required.
  • MBA strongly preferred.
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in specialty pharmaceutical, biotechnology industry or life sciences, or other complex disease state required.
    • At least 6 of these years in product marketing, and 2 years experience in a Brand Leadership capacity (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct neurology experience, with Movement Disorders preferred.
Knowledge, skills & abilities
  • Strong project management skills required; ability to support and prioritize responsibilities required.
  • Experience with Promotional Review Committee (PRC) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with other departments as necessary to achieve business goals required.
  • Influence and negotiating skills, specifically with business partners or management required.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment required.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time required.
  • Solid experience in HCP promotion, with at least some exposure to Patient Marketing required.
  • Experience in payer marketing in specialty pharmaceuticals preferred.
  • Proven leadership, both with direct reports and in a matrix environment required.
