Position Overview
Shaw Commercial is a global design leader in commercial flooring design, delivering innovative solutions for some of the world's most creative/dynamic environments. Our commercial brand portfolio and expansive product offerings provide insight-driven solutions across the workplace, education, healthcare, senior living, hospitality, and multi-family spaces. Supported by over 400 account executives worldwide, our Design Services team collaborates closely with clients to create flooring solutions that inspire and perform.
The Design Services Manager leads the strategic direction and implementation of our interior design and visualization teams. They are someone that is a strong communicator, curious, and connector - playing a key role as the keeper of connectivity across internal departments and ensuring brand identity in-market.
Strategic Leadership & Service Development
Lead the long-term vision, strategy, and performance of Commercial Design Services.
  • Own the long-term vision, strategy, and performance of Commercial Design Services, including interior design and visualization.
  • Develop and execute a customer-informed strategic plan that aligns market needs, tools, and services to business priorities and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with the VP of Strategic Accounts - A&D to activate under-engaged firms and position Design Services as a business development accelerator.
  • Drive adoption of branded design services through targeted marketing, sales enablement, and performance reporting.
  • Establish ROI benchmarks and financial metrics to guide strategic investments, prioritize segments, and measure impact.
  • Lead vendor strategy, third-party contract negotiations, and project routing to ensure internal standards, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Champion technology and system enhancements to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Coach and develop direct reports using PX as a framework for performance and growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Experience Alignment
Ensuring the customer, associate, and brand experience stays cohesive across teams, tools, and touchpoints.
  • Own the end-to-end customer and associate experience across Design Services touchpoints.
  • Ensure brand identity is consistently and accurately represented in-market and across all service interactions.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with sales, design, marketing, and digital teams to align goals and execution.
  • Act as a connector between sales and digital teams to deliver cohesive, user-centered solutions.
  • Share segment, channel, and customer insights to inform organizational decision-making.

Digital Experience & Platform Innovation
Driving the evolution of digital tools and platforms to support design services and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with digital teams to innovate and enhance online tools that support customer engagement and design services.
  • Ensure digital platforms reflect the brand's design vision while prioritizing ease of use and customer needs.
  • Provide customer insights to guide the development of visualization tools and interactive website features.
  • Defining system and digital requirements in partnership with Interior Design and Project Manager for sales tools and collaborate with Patcraft and Shaw Contract to execute those requirements.
  • Measure the performance of design services and visualization, translating insights into clear ROI and business impact reports.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture (CIDA-accredited) or Architecture (NAAB-accredited).
  • Minimum 5 years of interior design experience
  • 1+ years direct leadership experience
  • Approximately 30% travel to support client engagements, site visits, and industry events
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, and CAD
  • Ability and willingness to work in a hybrid way at the Create Centre, Cartersville GA campus 3-5 days a week depending on the needs of the business
