Job description

Vice President | Technology Investment Banking

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Vice President to join our Technology Investment Banking team in San Francisco. This individual will play a critical role in executing complex M&A transactions, strategic advisory assignments, and capital raising for leading companies across the technology, media, and digital infrastructure sectors.

The Vice President will bridge the gap between senior coverage officers and junior execution teams, acting as the "engine room" for deal flow while beginning to cultivate their own ecosystem of corporate and sponsor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction Execution: Lead the day-to-day execution of M&A and private placement mandates, including complex financial modeling ($LBO$, $DCF$, and $Accretion/Dilution$), due diligence management, and the drafting of information memoranda.

  • Strategic Advisory: Develop and deliver high-impact presentations for C-suite executives and Board members regarding strategic alternatives, valuation, and industry trends.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train Associates and Analysts, ensuring the highest quality of work product and professional development within the junior ranks.

  • Sector Coverage: Maintain a deep understanding of the technology landscape (SaaS, FinTech, Internet, and AI) to identify emerging trends and potential transaction opportunities.

  • Relationship Management: Support senior Managing Directors in business development efforts and increasingly take a lead role in maintaining client dialogues.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 6+ years of investment banking experience, with at least 1–2 years at the Vice President level. A proven track record of closed M&A transactions in the technology sector is essential.

  • Technical Excellence: Expert-level proficiency in financial modeling and valuation. Ability to translate complex financial data into a compelling strategic narrative.

  • Education: MBA from a top-tier business school or an equivalent level of professional experience/CFA designation.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the "executive presence" required to advise sophisticated clients.

  • Culture Fit: A high-energy, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, lean team environment.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work on "headline-making" transactions at the intersection of tech and media.

  • A lean team structure that provides significant visibility and responsibility.

  • Competitive compensation package and a clear path toward senior coverage roles.
