Job Summary

The primary role of the Portfolio Manager position is to support assigned commercial loan officers and underlying loan portfolios. The Portfolio Manager shall perform detailed analysis of the creditworthiness of new loan applicants and existing customer relationships and will assist commercial loan officers in identifying and gathering sufficient information from the applicant / borrower in evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of all parties to assist the Bank in making sound credit decisions. In addition to the processing of annual reviews and loan package presentation, the Portfolio Manager will also assist with the ongoing monitoring and renewal/review of the Commercial and Industrial; CRE and Cannabis Loan Portfolio.

Essential Job Functions
  • Prepare detailed support analysis on assigned loan portfolios in a timely fashion.
  • Analyze business and personal financial statements, cash flows and tax returns using Bank’s software applications
  • Supplement analysis with research and evaluations from a wide variety of sources such as the Bank’s data systems, Internet, Dunn & Bradstreet, RMA, CoStar, and general market data bases in order to develop an assessment of client, competitor and industry risks and trends
  • Proactively assist in the testing of financial covenant requirements within the assigned portfolio
  • Support loan officers with client credit request modification and annual renewal process and actively engage in the tracking and requesting of client financial reporting requirements as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or 3-5 years of related work experience in a financial related industry
Abilities Required
  • Ability to be detail oriented, multi-task and perform duties with limited supervision
  • Strong analytical skills and underwriting experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Desired Skills
  • Thorough understanding of the components of various financial statement types and formats
  • Thorough understanding of financial analysis required to perform annual review
  • Ability to support and defend decisions on recommended credit structures and analyses
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a logical and succinct format, verbally or in writing
  • Experience with CRE and C&I underwriting highly preferred
Essential Functions
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
  • Ability to converse and exchange information with all levels of staff within the organization
  • Ability to observe, perceive, and identify data
  • Ability to travel via air, rail, automobile, and/or bus
