Job description

Overview
The VP, Digital Commerce is responsible for leading the North America eCommerce business across multiple banners and markets, with ownership of digital strategy, commercial performance, omni-channel execution, and organizational development. This role oversees the digital P&L while driving growth across site experience, merchandising, customer acquisition, conversion, and digital operations. The ideal candidate is both a strategic business leader and people-focused operator, capable of building high-performing teams, scaling digital capabilities, and driving long-term growth in a fast-moving retail environment.

Responsibilities

Digital Commerce Strategy & P&L Leadership

  • Lead digital commerce strategy and execution across multiple brands, banners, and markets
  • Own the North America eCommerce P&L, partnering with Finance to drive revenue, margin, demand generation, and expense management
  • Develop and execute multi-year digital commerce strategies aligned to business goals and customer expectations
  • Translate merchandising and seasonal priorities into digital commercial strategies, including launches, promotions, markdowns, and inventory positioning
  • Identify and scale new digital growth opportunities, business models, and commerce capabilities
  • Deliver executive-level reporting on business performance, trends, risks, and growth opportunities

Site Merchandising & Digital Experience

  • Lead site merchandising strategy across homepage, navigation, category pages, search, PDPs, and product sequencing
  • Partner cross-functionally to support omni-channel initiatives including BOPIS, ship-from-store, and fulfillment readiness
  • Drive strong digital execution across launches, seasonal campaigns, and peak selling periods
  • Leverage analytics, testing, and customer insights to improve conversion, average order value, and customer engagement

Digital Marketing & Demand Generation

  • Partner with Marketing, Media, Loyalty, and CRM teams to drive traffic, conversion, and customer growth across digital channels
  • Support loyalty and app engagement strategies that strengthen customer retention and omni-channel connectivity
  • Align media strategy, promotional messaging, and campaign execution with commercial priorities and site readiness
  • Ensure performance measurement frameworks are in place to evaluate campaigns, targeting strategies, and customer acquisition efforts

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing digital commerce teams and leadership capabilities
  • Establish scalable operating models, processes, and succession plans that support long-term organizational growth
  • Foster collaboration across Merchandising, Marketing, Technology, Finance, Operations, and Customer Experience teams
  • Champion innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across the digital commerce organization

Qualifications

Required

  • 15+ years of experience in digital commerce, retail, eCommerce, or consumer-focused businesses
  • Proven experience leading large-scale digital businesses and owning significant eCommerce P&Ls
  • Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams and leaders
  • Strong background in omni-channel retail, digital merchandising, customer acquisition, and performance optimization
  • Experience operating within complex, matrixed organizations
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and executive communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Communications, or related field

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience leading multi-brand or multi-market digital commerce organizations
  • Experience driving digital transformation, omni-channel growth, or large-scale customer experience initiatives
