J.Crew is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Vice President of Digital Marketing to lead our performance-driven marketing organization. This senior leadership role is responsible for developing and executing an integrated digital marketing strategy that accelerates customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value across all owned and paid channels. Reporting directly to the Head of Ecommerce, the VP of Digital Marketing will own Performance Marketing (paid search, paid social, affiliate) alongside our owned channels including Email, SMS, and Push Notifications. This leader will bring creative ambition and analytical rigor in equal measure - championing innovation while building a high-performing team and agency ecosystem.

Strategy & Vision
  • Define and drive an integrated digital marketing vision that spans Performance, Email, SMS, and Push - aligned to J.Crewโ€™s brand identity and ecommerce growth goals
  • Develop channel roadmaps, investment frameworks, and testing strategies to maximize customer acquisition, retention, engagement, revenue, and margin generation
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in digital marketing, consumer behavior, and technology to bring bold, innovative ideas to the business
  • Partner closely with the Head of Ecommerce and cross-functional leaders (Brand Marketing, Creative, Merchandising, Technology, Finance, Strategy, and Analytics) to ensure marketing is deeply integrated with the broader customer experience and Brand strategy
Performance Marketing
  • Oversee strategy and execution across Paid Search (SEM), Paid Social (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.), Programmatic Display, Affiliate
  • Manage and optimize a significant media budget, ensuring strong ROAS, CAC efficiency, and measurable incrementality to Brand revenue and the bottom-line, alongside cross-functional partners
  • Lead agency relationships, holding partners accountable to performance benchmarks, innovation targets, and brand standards
  • Champion a rigorous A/B and multivariate testing culture to continuously improve campaign performance, alongside cross-functional partners
Email, SMS & Push
  • Own the strategy, calendar, segmentation, and performance of Email, SMS, and Push Notification programs across acquisition, retention, and lifecycle marketing
  • Ensure channel health through disciplined list management, deliverability best practices
  • Partner with creative and content teams to develop compelling, onโ€‘brand messaging to drive engagement and conversion.
Team & Agency Leadership
  • Build, mentor, and inspire a highโ€‘performing team of digital marketing professionals across digital marketing functions
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Manage and evaluate external agencies and technology vendors; lead RFPs, onboarding, and ongoing performance reviews, supported by cross-functional partners
  • Develop talent through coaching, feedback, and clear career development pathways
Analytics & Reporting
  • Align and own KPIs for all digital marketing channels; establish reporting cadences and executive dashboards
  • Use data and insights to inform budget allocation, channel mix optimization, and strategic pivots
  • Partner with Finance, Strategy and Analytics to develop robust attribution models and measure true marketing contribution to P&L
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive digital marketing experience, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role managing multiโ€‘channel teams
  • Proven track record of scaling performance marketing programs and owned channel strategies in a directโ€‘toโ€‘consumer, retail, or ecommerce environment
  • Deep expertise across Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic, Affiliate, and SEO โ€” combined with handsโ€‘on knowledge of Email, SMS, and Push platforms (e.g. Klaviyo, Attentive, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
  • Strong agency management experience; ability to hold partners to high standards while building collaborative, productive relationships
  • Exceptional analytical skills with fluency in performance metrics, attribution modeling, and media mix optimization
  • Experience managing substantial media budgets with demonstrated ability to drive efficiency and accretive growth simultaneously
  • Track record of building and developing highโ€‘performing teams in a fastโ€‘paced, matrixed organization
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to partner with and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • Passion for fashion, brand, and culture โ€” with an appreciation for J.Crewโ€™s unique aesthetic and customer
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus

Salary Range: $230,000.00 - $305,000.00. At J.Crew Group (JCG) we aim to pay competitively for our companyโ€™s size and industry. The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidateโ€™s geographic region of work premises, jobโ€‘related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The base salary is just one component of J.Crew Groupโ€™s competitive total rewards strategy that also includes the opportunity for bonus, competitive benefits and perks.
