Responsibilities

Summary

This position provides administrative oversight of the design services department by planning, designing, and managing the development of facility conceptual designs and project specifications. Manages and coordinates the design and development of architectural plans, specifications, and written submittals as required with department staff, consultants and various departments. Ensures all proposal development deliverables are completed within necessary timelines.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the preparation of all architectural design projects of the Company.
  • Prepares final specifications and provides overall guidance on objectives and concepts.
  • Coordinates design objectives and concepts with department staff, consultants, and various departments.
  • Develops and manages the refinement of facility conceptual designs and company standard project specifications.
  • Maintains effective communications and coordination between company departments, and consultants to ensure timeliness and accuracy of project design, specifications and submittals.
  • Supervises and evaluates work of subordinate architects and technicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Architectural Registration in at least one State.
  • Fifteen (15) years of progressive work experience demonstrating the ability to work independently on projects, knowledge of how projects need to be completed, and the ability to ensure that projects stay within necessary budgets and timeframes.
  • Demonstrated project design and management responsibility for multi-million dollar institutional projects.
  • Demonstrated department/office management responsibility.
  • Ability to utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to perform a variety of complex tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
