What you'll do in the role:
Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Database Engineering in Alpharetta, GA to research, develop, document, communicate, and drive implementation of standards on the storage, movement, and management of data across the enterprise. Deliver Fraud Operation data engineering and machine learning projects while coordinating with teams both onshore and offshore. Architect, design, and develop reusable frameworks, and deploy them into cloud solutions. Work on proof-of-concepts to adapt new technologies and cloud services. Design, build, and implement databases, Exact, transform, and load (ETL) jobs, and Master data management (MDM) solutions. Promote and leverage enterprise functions such as infrastructure, production support, and analytics. Act as the subject-matter expertise for data management and modeling challengers. Create and review data utilized in system interfaces. Evaluate and implement tools and strategies for databases, ETL, MDM, and reporting and analytics.
What you'll bring to the role:
-Requires a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study.
-Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an IT Operations Support Manager; Architect; Senior Data Engineer; Software Developer; or related occupation in the technology field.
-The employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study and three (3) years of experience as an IT Operations Support Manager; Architect; Senior Data Engineer; Software Developer; or related occupation in the technology field in lieu of a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience.
-Requires three (3) years of experience with:
  • Oracle;
  • Sybase SQL Server;
  • IBM Infosphere DataStage;
  • Data Architecture;
  • Performance Tuning;
  • Real-time transaction processing;
  • Windows and Linux;
  • PowerShell scripting;
  • Bitbucket;
  • Tableau;
  • Apache Impala;
  • Apache Hive;

-Requires two (2) years of experience with:
  • Snowflake;
  • AWS Data Analytics;
  • Patching;
  • Cloud technology including AWS EC2;
  • Parquet;
  • Continuous Integration (CI/CD) tools;
  • Cloudera.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $172,000 and $172,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
