PGIM Private Credit ("PPC") is the private credit investment business of PGIM, Inc., the global investment management business of Prudential Financial, Inc. With eight US regional offices and seven non-US offices (in Europe, Australia and Mexico), PPC manages and sources new investments for PPC's $110 billion+ portfolio of privately placed debt and structured equity investments. PPC offers to its global client base a broad range of private credit investment strategies that span the risk/return spectrum, from investment grade to below investment grade, and asset classes, from corporate financing to direct lending to mezzanine (corporate and energy-focused) to real assets (power, oil and gas, infrastructure and leasing).

PPC's Law department currently has 15 attorneys and is part of Prudential's Law, Compliance, Business Ethics and External Affairs department.

PPC Law has an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic global investment management business. We are seeking an experienced corporate finance lawyer to primarily support PPC business units focusing on investment transactions.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires on-site presence on a reoccurring weekly basis as determined by the business. The successful candidate will preferably work from a PPC office located in Atlanta, GA, Newark, NJ, Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, Los Angeles, CA, or San Francisco, CA. We will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

  • Structuring, negotiating and supervising the documentation of corporate finance transactions involving senior debt, mezzanine debt and/or equity
  • Serving as a strategic partner for PPC businesses in support of building and managing a varied investment portfolio
  • Building professional and working relationships with the leadership team and key stakeholders
  • Managing outside counsel
  • Tracking and monitoring regulatory trends that will have a meaningful impact on the business and strategizing with PPC management on appropriate actions

What you'll need:

  • 6+ years of experience in corporate finance transactions, preferably with a major law firm or major financial institution
  • Prior experience representing (as inside or outside counsel) insurance companies, banks, private credit funds or other institutional investors in corporate finance and/or leveraged finance transactions
  • Familiarity or prior experience with the federal securities law
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively with demanding PPC clients, borrowers, outside counsel and other institutional investors, as well as colleagues across the Prudential enterprise, is critical
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to work well in an environment where coordination and teamwork with legal and business associates is a priority
  • Admitted to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction and able to obtain an in-house counsel license, if required by state of office location

It'd be a plus if you had:

  • Experience with workouts, direct lending, project finance, credit tenant lease financing and/or infrastructure financing
  • Cross border/international experience
  • Foreign language skills

The salary range for this role is from $208,400.00 to $312,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
