Job description

Role Overview

Ares Management is hiring a Vice President to join its U.S. Direct Lending Group (DLG) credit platform in Boston. DLG is one of the largest self-originating direct lenders, with over 230 investment professionals across the U.S., providing investors access to senior secured loans, private high yield, mezzanine, and select minority equity investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite, execute, and negotiate new private credit transactions
  • Lead transactions from initial deal sourcing through closing, focused on debt financings for leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, recapitalizations, and restructurings
  • Develop relationships with the private equity sponsor community and capital markets participants
  • Oversee investment memorandums for deal screening and formal investment committee approval
  • Lead the due diligence process and legal documentation process
  • Mentor junior members of the investment team
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in underwriting and execution, focused on direct lending or credit-related transactions
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an MBA
  • Proven track record developing relationships with private equity sponsors and lending partners
  • Strong financial modeling and capital structure expertise across bank loans, senior unsecured debt, and subordinated debt
Compensation & Location

Based in Ares' Boston office, reporting to the Partner, Credit. Anticipated base salary range $150,000-$185,000, plus a discretionary performance-based bonus and Ares' full benefits package.
