About Ares

Ares is a leading participant in the global alternative credit markets with approximately $51billion of assets under management, investing across multiple actively‑managed funds. The Alternative Credit team comprises over 60 investment professionals in NewYork, Atlanta, SanDiego, and London, focusing on asset‑backed strategies such as loans, leases, receivables, and specialty finance.

Role Overview

The Senior Associate/Vice President will build and scale Ares’ charitable efforts within the Alternative Credit platform and across the PromoteGiving initiative. This individual will expand philanthropic partnerships, strengthen community engagement, and drive strategic communications across multiple platforms.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Build awareness of the Ares Alternative Credit platform, enhancing charitable partnerships and leading marketing, event coordination, and publication efforts.
  • Support PromoteGiving growth by engaging external investment firms and onboarding new signatories.
  • Build and manage relationships with non‑profit organizations, foundations, and industry partners.
  • Foster a connected community of PromoteGiving participants through coordinated communications, engagement campaigns, and shared learning opportunities.
  • Source and evaluate prospective charitable partners, reviewing impact metrics, scalability, and effectiveness.
  • Maintain reporting frameworks to track charitable commitments, impact, and progress, and provide senior leadership with regular updates.
  • Enhance visibility of Ares’ philanthropic initiatives through publications, events, and digital content (LinkedIn, podcasts, etc.).
  • Create compelling materials that articulate the firm’s “compounding with purpose” strategy and highlight PromoteGiving impact.
  • Coordinate industry‑facing events, initiatives, and sponsorships.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent required.
  • Passionate about charitable giving and impact‑oriented initiatives.
  • Familiarity with foundations, philanthropic practices, and the financial community.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders across marketing, events, and communications.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate marketing campaigns, events, and initiatives independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective at building and nurturing relationships, managing logistics, and driving brand awareness.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (LinkedIn, podcasts, etc.) is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $120,000–$160,000, plus a discretionary performance‑based bonus.
