Job description

The Cardmember Access & Experiences team is responsible for designing and delivering benefits, experiences, and partnerships that differentiate Citi's U.S. Consumer Cards, drive customer acquisition, increase engagement, strengthen loyalty, and encourage top-of-wallet spending.
The New Benefits Development, Vice President will support the strategy, evaluation, launch, and ongoing management of Citi's cardholder benefits portfolio. This role combines customer insights, analytics, competitive intelligence, and partner management to identify new benefit opportunities and optimize Citi's existing offerings. The VP will develop business cases, evaluate strategic partners, support benefit launches, and manage portfolio performance to ensure Citi's benefits deliver value for customers and the business.
Responsibilities
  • Lead customer, market, and competitive research to surface emerging trends and identify new cardholder benefit opportunities that differentiate Citi's U.S. Consumer Card portfolio.
  • Analyze customer behavior, portfolio performance, and competitor offerings to uncover actionable opportunities that strengthen acquisition, engagement, retention, and loyalty.
  • Develop compelling business cases, financial analyses, and executive-level presentations to secure investment in new benefits and portfolio enhancements.
  • Evaluate potential strategic partners, support the development of new partnerships, and manage ongoing partner relationships to maintain performance and accountability against agreed KPIs.
  • Maintain and evolve Citi's inventory of U.S. Consumer Card benefits, identifying portfolio gaps and recommending targeted optimizations to maximize cardholder and business value.
  • Collaborate across Product, Marketing, Analytics, Finance, Legal, Risk, Technology, and Operations to bring new benefits from concept through to launch and sustained performance.
  • Manage the new benefits pipeline and deliver executive reporting on portfolio performance, partner metrics, utilization trends, competitive activity, and return on investment.
  • Support annual portfolio reviews by synthesizing industry trends and performance data to recommend benefit renewals, enhancements, or retirement decisions.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 6 or more years of experience in strategy, product management, strategic partnerships, consulting, or financial services, with hands-on involvement in marketing, product or project management, and client or relationship management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop rigorous business cases and translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Track record of managing cross-functional initiatives, coordinating across diverse teams to deliver against shared goals and timelines.
  • Experience building and maintaining strategic partnerships, including performance management and relationship development.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong project management and organizational skills and a high degree of attention to detail.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working within the credit card, payments, loyalty, rewards, or consumer financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with cardholder benefits portfolio management, including benefit evaluation, launch, and lifecycle management.
  • Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
