Job description

Albany Law School invites applications for a collaborative and strategic Director of Facilities amp; Administrative Services to lead campus facilities, operations, and administrative services functions. Reporting to the Vice President for Finance amp; Business, the Director provides leadership and operational oversight to support a safe, efficient, and service-oriented campus environment aligned with the Law School’s mission and long-range goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead campus facilities operations, administrative services, and related operational functions.
  • Oversee campus maintenance, renovation, sustainability, and capital improvement initiatives.
  • Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, construction-related contracts, and operational resources.
  • Partner with campus stakeholders to support facilities planning and operational needs.
  • Lead campus safety, environmental health, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Support physical security, telecommunications, transportation, and operational support services across campus.
  • Contribute to operational improvements and strategic institutional initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering, business administration, operations, public administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities, operations, construction management, or related areas.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities operations, project management, building systems, and operational planning.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and operational contracts.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and support collaborative problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety, environmental health, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance practices preferred.
  • Experience utilizing business and operational technologies, including facilities planning or project management software such as AutoCAD, preferred.
  • Higher education, nonprofit, or campus operations experience preferred.
Compensation
The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000-$110,000 per year. The salary offered will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, and in consideration of internal equity. We offer a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental and vision insurance, employer paid disability and life insurance coverage, 5% retirement contribution, CDTA bus pass, and generous time off.
