Job description

What Pharmacy Operations Management contributes to Cardinal Health Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that serve acute care, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers. Pharmacy Operations Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Pharmacy Operations function. Responsibilities Oversee pharmaceutical night shift warehouse operations, efficient order fulfillment and timely distribution of medications in accordance with established operational standards.

Plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate administrative activities as delegated by the VP of Operations, including inventory management, operational efficiency projects, risk mitigation initiatives, and the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Direct daily department operations while supervising a workforce of 50+ employees, including supervisor and business support staff. Implement and maintain processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations governing the receipt, storage, handling, and distribution of medications, as well as inventory and expense controls.

Provides pharmacist support and oversight for operations at pharma and medical warehouse locations. Manage the day-to-day operations of the night shift operations. Monitor performance to ensure departmental goals and service standards are consistently achieved.

Maintain pharmacist certification records and oversee database access privileges and security controls to ensure compliance, data integrity, and confidentiality. Collaborate with cross-functional departments, such as EHS, IT, Customer Service, and Opex, to support seamless pharmacy and warehouse operations. Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities for subordinates, including competency assessments and related documentation.

Participate in internal and external meetings, providing operational expertise and recommendations to support effective collaboration across functional areas. Lead and assist in the execution of strategic initiatives designed to reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and support sustainable business growth. Assume responsibility for Quality Assurance monitoring, regulatory compliance activities, and the preparation of month-end operational reports.

Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned. Serve as a backup for the day shift manager Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy is Required, PharmD is preferred. Puerto Rico Pharmacy Active License, Registration and Certifications are required for this role 5 or more years of pharmacist experience, preferred Supervisory experience is required.

Strong analytical skills, leadership, conflict resolution and communication abilities. Distribution or manufacturing background experience is a plus. Bilingual English and Spanish is required Microsoft office Knowledge is required Must be able to work in rotative shifts if necessary.
