Role Summary
The Director of Sales - Aftermarket Americas (OES) is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing sales strategies for assigned global OEM customers across North America. This role ensures the achievement of short and long term sales objectives, drives profitable growth, and leads a high performing team of Key Account Managers in close collaboration with the Sr. Vice President, Automotive Aftermarket Americas.
Main Tasks
Strategic Sales Leadership
  • Develop and implement North American sales strategies for defined global customers to achieve M+H short- and long-term sales objectives for Automotive Aftermarket OES.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with customer, market, and product strategies.
  • Ensure full alignment with global sales strategy, implementing regional adaptations where required.

Customer & Commercial Management
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with assigned OEM customers.
  • Lead pricing strategy development and execution in collaboration with the Sr. VP Automotive Aftermarket Americas.
  • Negotiate long-term commercial agreements and contracts, ensuring alignment with financial, operational, and strategic goals.
  • Coordinate and oversee all customer activities across the North American region.

Sales Performance & Financial Accountability
  • Own and monitor US and Mexico sales performance for the assigned customer groups.
  • Review key performance indicators regularly and implement corrective measures where targets are at risk.
  • Plan, manage, and control the cost and sales budget within the area of responsibility.
  • Initiate and steer corrective actions to address deviations from planned objectives.

Market Intelligence & Forecasting
  • Monitor market, customer, and industry trends to ensure competitiveness and proactive strategy adjustment.
  • Analyze competitor activities, pricing, and positioning.
  • Forecast customer and market developments to support forward-looking planning and resource allocation.

Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Lead, coach, motivate, and develop direct and indirect reports in accordance with HR policies.
  • Ensure the sales organization is properly structured, staffed, and directed to meet current and future business needs.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the sales organization.

Planning & Governance
  • Lead strategic and operational sales planning processes.
  • Ensure disciplined execution of strategies and adherence to corporate governance requirements.

Your Profile
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Business Administration or related field of education

Experience:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in sales, business development with Automotive OEM customers.
  • 5+ years of related managerial experience

  • Strong technical background and varied product experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce (or equivalent CRM), and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Strong digital acumen, including experience with CRM, ERP (e.g., SAP), and aftermarket digital platforms
  • Ability to leverage data analytics and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to drive decision-making
  • Experience leading digital transformation or process digitalization initiatives
  • Understanding of aftermarket digital trends (e.g., e-commerce, predictive maintenance, connected products/IoT)
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into automation and scalable digital solutions

Preferred:
  • Master's degree
  • Knowledge/experience in filtration (engineering, manufacturing, sales)
  • OES or Automotive aftermarket experience.
  • Spanish language skills
