Job description

Location: Northeast Ohio
Shift: Monday - Friday
Travel: Up to 75%
FLSA: Exempt
Vocational Guidance Services (VGS) changes lives and strengthens our communities through services that educate, empower, and provide the opportunity to earn a paycheck! VGS is a highly acclaimed, successful, private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) vocational rehabilitation agency with over 130 years of dedicated experience serving persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment. We have a new opportunity for a Rehabilitation Supervisor to help support 9 employer community sites that are primarily in Cuyahoga County, with one additional site in Portage County and one in Lake County. This role will manage call-offs of agency staff for these locations and will be the first to fill-in when needed. In coordination with the Rehabilitation Manager, the Supervisor will travel between locations to ensure sites are implementing appropriate curriculum and work procedures, also meet with staff, participants and employers to ensure all needs are being met. Additional job duties will include the following:
  • Supervise and assist with all referred individuals to train and improve vocational skills.
  • Assist Rehabilitation Manager with program duties and ensure the success of individuals in accordance to their individual plan for service.
  • Complete all billing in an accurate and timely manner for services performed by the deadlines set by the Finance Department.
  • Assist with the collection of all receivables for any services performed.
  • Participate in the annual Individual planning/meeting process as requested.
  • Develop and implement programming designed to increase daily living skills, personal and social adjustment, and vocational behaviors and skills.
  • Coach and assist Rehabilitation Specialists with developing, designing, implementing and revising individual service plans including long and short-term goals.
  • Ensure all required paperwork, such as monthly reports, Individual plans and documentation, program evaluation forms, detailed and accurate case notes, etc. is completed as required and forwarded to case management staff in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed per the individuals' plan, VGS policies, procedures and oversight agencies is completed and filed as appropriate.
  • Make recommendations for work assignments, accommodations, and additional vocational supports based on intake, assessment and other forms of documentation or team input.
  • Train Developmental Services staff in required and other programmatic areas. Assist in development of training curriculum.
  • Complete payroll tasks.

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field preferred.
  • Five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience working with DD population.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using computers including MS Office, payroll and case management system.
