Visual effects (VFX) involve adding animation or computer-generated imagery to a live-action film or video during post-production. A VFX internship focuses on training students to create visual effects and assisting with VFX operations during production. As a student intern, your duties vary but you can typically expect to use visual effects software to create VFX and blend them into a film, show, or commercial. You work with programs such as AutoDesk Maya as well as Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. Your responsibilities have you focusing on specific aspects of a project under the direction of a more senior VFX pro. There are also paid internship opportunities available to recent graduates.
