Position Summary

ITT is seeking a Business Development Manager - East Texas Region for VIDAR, a breakthrough in industrial motors. VIDAR is a patented motor with embedded variable speed intelligence built for harsh industrial environments. For decades, variable speed drives have been bulky, expensive, and hard to install, which stalled adoption at just 15 percent of rotating equipment. VIDAR changes that. It installs as easily as replacing a motor, cuts total installed cost by up to 50 percent compared to a VFD, and opens a $6B market with no direct competitor targeting industrial environments. 

The Business Development Manager, VIDAR (EMD), East Texas Region will be responsible for identifying, developing, and generating new business opportunities with potential clients (OEM, Distribution, Users, and Strategic). S/he is responsible for strategy, implementation, and management of all business development activities in your region. This position will require cultivation and consultative selling to multi-national industrial customers at the executive to the plant/facilities level. The ideal incumbent will take a lead role to win clients for new products focused on sustainability in the field of electric motors and drives.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Identify and research potential clients
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Work with potential clients to identify equipment for pilots
  • Coordinate and assist in the successful implementation of pilots
  • Coordinate and assist with client stakeholders to get new products approved
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders
  • Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal executives
  • Travel to client sites and tradeshows as needed to win new business
  • Assist in developing sales strategy for new products
  • Assist product and marketing teams in developing marketing content
  • Travel < 50%
Position Requirements
  • S./M.S. degree in engineering, business, or equivalent experience in related field
  • 5+ years in B2B sales or business development role
  • Demonstrated ability to sell to industrial customers at executive level
  • Familiarity with the industrial markets, electric motors, and variable frequency drives
  • Familiar with how Fans, Pumps, Electric Motors, and VFD' work in industries
  • Understanding of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
