Senior Maintenance Technician



Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Pay: $39–$45/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts. Rotating on-call coverage with occasional evening and weekend work for off-hours maintenance issues.


HiFyve is hiring a Senior Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids. This position combines hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance with preventive maintenance planning, work order management, contractor coordination, and project support. The primary focus is electrical, I&E, PLC, and VFD experience.


Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment
  • Perform electrical, instrumentation, controls, and mechanical maintenance
  • Diagnose PLC, VFD, motor, rotating equipment, and control-system issues
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair work orders through SAP
  • Read P&IDs, electrical schematics, one-line drawings, and equipment manuals
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, work permits, materials, and repair services
  • Support small projects, equipment installations, and commissioning
  • Assist with equipment failures and root cause investigations
  • Follow all site safety, environmental, and hazardous-work requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Craft apprenticeship or equivalent technical education and experience
  • At least 7 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Strong electrical, I&E, PLC, and VFD troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and work order systems
  • SAP or similar CMMS experience preferred
  • Experience with rotating equipment and hazardous manufacturing environments preferred
  • Qualified electrical training or certification required when performing qualified electrical work
  • Ability to operate forklifts and aerial equipment
  • Ability to work at heights, outdoors, and in confined-space or respirator-required environments
