Job description

Western Veterinary Partners (WVP) is a people-centric veterinary support organization that acquires, invests in, and supports veterinary practices and animal hospitals throughout the United States. Post-acquisition, WVP supports its partner practices in achieving our collective goals to recruit and retain doctors, staff, and clients in the communities we serve.

Headquartered in Denver, CO, we are driven by our values of integrity, collaboration, alignment, growth, support, and relationships. We are currently seeking a talented Recruiter to join our DVM Recruiting team. The DVM Recruiter will focus on cultivating strong lasting relationships with veterinarians, with an understanding of their unique needs and aspirations and ensuring a match with partner practices. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator (written and verbal), is detail oriented, and can build strong relationships and trust with Operations and Human Resources teams.

Remote work is supported with travel as needed- typically about 15-20%. Must have Veterinary Recruiting Experience.

To Thrive in this position candidates should be able to:

  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of veterinary candidates, keeping detailed record of interactions and progress to ensure smooth on boarding experience
  • Source and engage veterinarians to join WVP practices utilizing various channels, including networking, job boards, social media, and industry events to attract top veterinary talent
  • Ensure workflows and processes related to veterinary recruitment are documented and managed within the applicant tracking system and various reporting tools
  • Stay up to date on trends within the veterinary industry and within the veterinary job market
  • Partner with relevant cross-functional teams to strengthen brand presence within the veterinary community
  • Travel to assist with DVM candidate practice visits when needed
  • Support and implement employee engagement activities (welcoming new team members, tracking promotions/employee referrals, and acknowledging work anniversaries)
  • Oversee new hire on-boarding for DVM positions including drafting offer letters, new hire paperwork, and being the point of contact
  • Provide leadership and advice to hiring managers and interview teams

  • Creates and maintains robust talent pipelines to support current and future hiring needs across multiple markets.

Consultative Partnership

  • Serves as a trusted advisor to Operations, and hospital leadership teams by providing recruiting insights, market intelligence, and hiring recommendations.
  • Guides hiring managers through best practices in candidate evaluation, interviewing, and selection.

Candidate Experience & Employer Branding

  • Delivers a high-touch, personalized candidate experience throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Promotes and strengthens Western Veterinary Partners’ employer brand within the veterinary community.

Negotiation & Influencing Skills

  • Effectively manages offer presentation, compensation discussions, and candidate negotiations to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Influences stakeholders and candidates through strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Data Management & Process Excellence

  • Maintains accurate candidate records, recruiting workflows, and reporting within applicant tracking systems and related platforms.
  • Leverages recruiting metrics and market data to drive continuous process improvement and informed decision-making.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar
  • 5+ years of Recruiting experience with a longer-cycle relationship focused candidate pool
  • Experience with a multi-state, multi-entity, private equity, growth organization strongly preferred
  • Effective, clear, and persuasive oral and written communication skills
  • Talent and experience with negotiations and networking
  • Strong interpersonal skills, highly organized, accurate, thorough; ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the company
  • Demonstrates a “whatever it takes” attitude; must possess the ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Self-directed, highly organized and can easily navigate ambiguity and create order

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The compensation range for this opportunity is $80, 000 - $100,000 annually. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location. You will be provided more detailed information about compensation and benefits for your specific location. Where required under applicable law, WVP provides eligible employees with paid sick leave, health emergency leave, and similar benefits programs, all in accordance with the requirements of state and local law depending on the location of the practice you support.
