Job description

Location: Remote. Candidate must reside in Western Region
Compensation: $80,000 base salary, commensurate with experience. Performance-based bonuses are available.
Reports to: Director of Human Resources
Employment type: Full-time, exempt.
Position Summary
We are hiring a Full-Cycle Recruiter to own hiring from first contact to signed offer across our clinics. You will source, screen, and guide candidates through the process for veterinarian (DVM), relief DVM, and Practice Manager roles in a supply-constrained market. This is a hands-on sourcing and closing role, not a coordinator position. You will spend most of your time finding passive candidates, building relationships, and moving qualified people through the pipeline. Success is measured by quality hires placed and time to fill, not activity volume.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle recruiting across DVM, relief DVM, and Practice Manager searches, including intake, sourcing strategy, screening, interview coordination, offer, and close.
Source passive candidates through Boolean search, professional networks, referrals, and targeted outreach. A large share of qualified veterinary candidates are passive, so proactive sourcing is central to the role.
Build and maintain candidate relationships with a strong, honest picture of the clinic, the role, and the market. Represent AVP professionally to every candidate, whether or not they move forward.
Own the candidate pipeline in our applicant tracking system (Workable), keeping records, stages, and notes accurate so hiring managers and leadership have a reliable pipeline view.
Partner with stakeholders, including hiring managers, clinic leadership, and the HR team, to align on role requirements, feedback, and timelines.
Screen and qualify applicants through structured phone and video screens, assessing both qualifications and fit against the role profile.
Coordinate and extend offers in partnership with clinic leadership and the Regional Operations Manager, who serves as the approval gatekeeper for offers.
Track and report on time to fill, pipeline health, and source effectiveness, and use that data to refine strategy.
Preferred
• Experience with an applicant tracking system, Workable in particular.
• Familiarity with using AI tools such as Claude & ChatGPT.
About Associated Veterinary Partners
Associated Veterinary Partners (AVP) partners with veterinary hospitals and clinics to provide the financial, operational, and strategic resources practices need to thrive while preserving clinical autonomy and quality of care. As AVP continues to grow its network of partner locations, the finance organization plays a critical role in enabling smart, data-driven decisions and scalable, efficient operations across every site. Associated Veterinary Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
Requirements
Required
• Three or more years of full-cycle recruiting experience, agency or in-house.
• Veterinary industry recruiting experience is required.
• A track record of sourcing and placing candidates in a competitive or supply-constrained market.
• Hands-on sourcing skill, including Boolean search and outreach that gets responses.
• Comfort managing multiple open requisitions at once without letting candidates go cold.
• Familiarity with AI tools and a genuine willingness to learn new ones. AVP is actively building AI into its recruiting workflow, and this role is expected to use it.
• Clear, direct written and verbal communication.
• Required travel as needed to clinics for onboarding and candidate interviews, in addition to various career fairs and events .
Benefits
  • Competitive Salary - $80,000 base salary. DOE. Performance-based bonuses available.
  • Comprehensive Health Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance Options
  • Unlimited/Flexible PTO
  • 401(k) + up to 6% company match
  • Remote Opportunity
