Bedford Veterinary Medical Center is a state of the art, multi-doctor hospital that offers personal, progressive, and comprehensive animal care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets in the Southern New Hampshire area. We practice the highest quality medicine while providing our pets and clients with the utmost care and compassion. Our hospital offers many services including annual wellness care, anesthesia and sedation, dentistry, internal medicine, laser therapy, in-house pharmacy, surgery, urgent/immediate care, and acupuncture. We are ready with a positive, experienced support staff and excellent clientele and well equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, dental x-ray, and a complete in-house laboratory. And at our sister hospital in Hudson, Lowell Road Veterinary Center, we offer rehabilitation services such as underwater treadmill therapy, massage therapy, laser therapy, modality exercises, and more. *This position will oversee operations for both the Bedford and Lowell locations.

Job Description

We’re looking for:

  • Train, coach, evaluate, and support team members through performance management and team meetings.
  • Manage staffing schedules, payroll, hiring, onboarding, and employee relations.
  • Maintain accurate records, inventory control, controlled substances compliance, and hospital policies (DEA/OSHA).
  • Oversee office workflow, facility maintenance, safety, and revenue reporting.
  • Support marketing initiatives and represent the hospital at community and industry events.
  • Ensure exceptional client service by resolving concerns professionally and supporting patient care coordination.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to support hospital operations.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, clients, and veterinary teams while fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a veterinary office or similar customer service role, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management position.
  • 40 hours a week, rotating weekends
  • Time will be split: Floor/Admin 
  • Oversee the daily administrative functions of the veterinary office, ensuring a well-organized and efficient workflow.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor reception staff to ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Ensure that the office environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for clients and staff.
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and veterinary materials, placing orders as necessary.
  • Manage office scheduling, including coordinating with the veterinary team to ensure appropriate coverage for appointments and surgeries.
  • Handle staff scheduling, ensuring proper coverage and compliance with labor laws.
  • Prepare and distribute internal communications to keep all team members informed about clinic operations and changes.
