The Opportunity

RCG is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a federal client in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations across geographically dispersed locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to network performance, security, and reliability.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, procure, design, develop, configure, and commission federal networks and associated systems for network monitoring and incident management.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and monitor network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Document network architecture, configurations, policies, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Assess system performance and recommend upgrades, enhancements, preventive maintenance, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Plan and communicate technical initiatives and project deliverables.
  • Evaluate and document business cases for network modernization and improvement efforts.
  • Prioritize work activities to align with organizational objectives and mission requirements.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and summaries that translate technical information into actionable business insights.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor enterprise information security strategies to protect critical systems and data.
  • Ensure systems comply with applicable security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with system administrators and stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks.
  • Evaluate security vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation and patch management activities.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, business continuity initiatives, and recovery procedures for mission-critical services.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Network Engineer.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
  • Experience planning, designing, developing, configuring, and implementing enterprise or federal network environments.
  • Experience supporting network monitoring and incident management systems.
  • Experience with federal network documentation and policy compliance requirements.
  • Strong expertise in network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Experience evaluating system performance and recommending infrastructure improvements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience preparing reports and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing requirements and support mission-critical operational needs.
