Job description

Quality Specialist I

Location: Strasburg, OH

About the Role:

Kleen Test Products (KTP) is seeking a Quality Specialist I to support quality assurance activities across our manufacturing operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance, product integrity, and continuous improvement across laboratory, warehousing, compounding, and filling environments. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams to identify quality risks, drive corrective actions, support audits, and promote best practices that protect our customers, employees, and brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality and compliance audits across production, laboratory, warehousing, compounding, and filling operations
  • Partner with department leaders to review audit findings, recommend improvements, and track corrective actions to closure
  • Establish, document, and maintain quality policies, procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and forms
  • Train and educate employees on quality processes, documentation practices, sanitation, and housekeeping standards
  • Review and approve Batch Production Records (BPRs) and Master Production Records (MPRs) to ensure compliance
  • Support change management initiatives, trials, and Engineering/Manufacturing Orders (EMOs)
  • Investigate quality issues, deviations, and customer complaints; support root cause analysis and CAPA development
  • Serve as a site-level quality resource during quality-related events or escalations
  • Manage rework activities and maintain controlled retain rooms
  • Prepare customer scorecards and assist with sample and finished goods shipments
  • Create visual job aids and tools to support production teams
  • Contribute to special quality projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Quality leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related scientific field
  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, or production environment (large-scale/compounding experience preferred)
  • Experience conducting audits and working with regulatory and quality standards
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, documentation practices, and root cause analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present clearly to all levels of the organization
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), Outlook, Google Suite, and related systems
