Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Verification & Validation Engineer located in Fontana, CA. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background and solid understanding of process and quality engineering principles.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Verification & Validation Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products, systems, and components meet design intent, performance requirements, reliability expectations, and regulatory standards through structured validation and verification activities. This role will collaborate closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure robust production performance and manufacturability.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Develop and execute verification and validation plans (V&V) to confirm product performance against design specifications and requirements.

  • Design test procedures, test fixtures, and validation protocols for mechanical systems and assemblies.

  • Perform functional, environmental, reliability, and performance testing; Analyze test results and generate technical reports and validation summaries.

  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test plans, and verification results.

  • Provide technical expertise on mechanical systems, components, materials, and assemblies.

  • Support product development through design reviews, risk assessments, and failure analysis.

  • Evaluate mechanical performance including load conditions, fatigue, vibration, thermal behavior, and environmental stresses.

  • Assist in the design and improvement of test setups and mechanical test rigs.

  • Work closely with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure test plans align with production processes.

  • Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for reliability (DFR) initiatives.

  • Participate in root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement activities.

  • Contribute to process validation, first article inspections, and production qualification testing.

  • Maintain documentation in accordance with engineering standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.

  • Generate and maintain: Test protocols, Verification matrices, Validation reports, Engineering change documentation

  • Ensure traceability between design requirements, validation results, and product release documentation.

  • Partner with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, suppliers, and quality teams to resolve design and performance issues.

  • Provide input during product development phases including prototype, pilot, and production release.

  • Support supplier validation and component qualification activities when necessary.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

  • At least 5 years of related experience and/or training in validation, verification, product testing, process engineering, or quality engineering.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and assemblies.

  • Experience developing and executing test plans, test protocols, and validation reports.

  • Strong technical documentation ability.

  • Knowledge of engineering validation methodologies and qualification testing.

  • Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in product development environments.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software.
